Wonderbaby has reminded me of my favorite post-buffalo roaming picture - pioneers on the great plains used to collect bison manure for fuel because there were so few trees.
Oh, geez. Whenever we'd sing that song on family car trips, my mom would then ask us "Why did the antelope?". Now that I'm older, I know that the answer is: because its frickin' in-laws werre driving it crazy.
LOL, I am about to admit something so weird, I thought, until I was like 10 that it was "Phantom Pope". I would scream everytime someone sang it because I thought the Pope was a ghost roaming around.
OH! And I've been meaning to tell you for months, a propos shaving baby girls' heads: apparently, in many cultures, it's quite common to do this, in the belief that it makes the hair grow back thicker.
That photo is adorable, her face and expression are priceless.
What Mimi said is true, many of my neighbours shave their girls heads before their first birthday. It has to do with removing the mother's hair from the baby though (as I have been told and it is part of their religion as well) more than the thickness in this case although I have heard that too in some European cultures.
AWESOME picture there! I adore the look on her face. Never too swift, it took me a minute to "get" the caption... Not enough beer and cantaloupe to get me going today!
I understand there are some buffalo around here somewhere. We always have beer on hand, and I suppose I could pick up a canteloupe or two if you really want some...

My parents didn't have the heart to tell me it was "antelope" rather than "cantaloupe" for years. I think I sang cantaloupe until I was 12 or 13.
Re heather's comment - my family sang cantaloupe too, but just because we thought we were funny.

Awww...what a cutie.
And yeah...I'm right there with Heather. I thought it was cantaloupe when I was young, too.

I thought that was a normally cute picture until I enlarged it. SOOOOOOO hilarious! What a face on that little darling! LOL!
People, enlarge the picture. You won't regret it.
That?
Is awesome.
Very cute!!! Do enlarge it for ultimate cuteness.
Now THAT is a face...
Thanks for sharing.
Hope you're feeling good.
Oh my! So much excitement for such a little girl!
That is the true definition of bursting with excitement. The emotion is larger than she is!
That picture is awesome.
I think you should enlarge it and hang it above your fireplace. Really.
That is one funny/cute pic! Thanks for making me smile.
Totally worth the extra click. WB is killing me.

and, damn woman, can I hire you as a personal shopper for my poor child? I can't let her be seen roaming the streets as she has - not after this!

That look on WBs face is priceless! I love her cap, her shoes, how she has a baby doll and a pink hairbrush-what a sweet little girl she is!
I gave you an award on my blog, and I hope you'll stop by to see what it is! :)

Talk about a little perspective!
Perfect reaction! Perfect!
That's one happy girl.
She is irresistible - every bit of her.

Edibly adorable. I love it when the emotion is so great that one's head almost splits open - you captured it perfectly.
We have some cantaloupe around here somewhere.
That face is priceless. I assume she just learned that the buffalo ate the beer and cantaloupe, right?
Eeeeee! TOO CUTE! The monkey LOVES her baby dolls, too! I see she brought a brush with her -- can't leave home without the brush, no.... ;)
her expressions are always to die for. love her.
What a cute petooteey!!!
I love this picture. I love that expression!
A-hem, is Wonderbaby a Fashionista? Impeccable fashion sense or no, she is one cute and expressive kid.
"Where the beer and the cantaloupe play...."
Wonderbaby is so cute!
Fackin' Priceless!
Oh, man, I wish I had known about those lyrics about 20 years ago! :)
OH MY GOD!
That expression is WONDERFUL!
I have boys, so we escaped the Bratz. Still...I just don't see the appeal. At all.
I don't know but I see that bull's hangy thing.
heh heh
Now. Can you get her to do that in front of a print of The Scream?
