In Which I Shamelessly Embrace My Blog As An Alternative To Baby Books...
... and, instead of composing a post with actual thoughts and ideas, I simply document a completely insignificant but nonetheless memorable milestone in my daughter's life: the first real (i.e. not performed by Mommy in the kitchen with a pair of cuticle scissors) haircut.
My beauty, all the more lovely for a cheeky smile, a neatly trimmed bang, and timely mullet removal.

Cute pictures!!! She looks so very grown up with her new haircut.
How did I not notice it was getting so long? Wow. and um, I still cut Pumpkinpie's myself... ahem.
and may I add - man, does she ever have your mouth/smile in that last picture!
Embrace those roots! These moments are very special.
That last picture is totally adorable!
And she looks so worried at first...
That last pic is so new haircut pride. Nice.
Aaahhh, she's so cute!!!!!
urrr, did you just say that mommyblogging is about meaningless moments devoid of thought and careful composition? is the sleep deprivation kinda getting to you? **ouch**
(she's cute--and finally! enough hair to cut! and no one to ask you if you're shaving it off!)
Absolutely beautiful.
Such big blue eyes. How I love a sassy fringe. Bangs. Whatever.
She is so cool.
Great photos, mommyblogging is the perfect way to remember all the important dates.
I waited until girl-childs third birthday for her first haircut, of course I blogged that moment too!.
Look at that sweet, sweet smile!
That is one gorgeous young lady!
Mimi - yeah, that came out wrong. Changing it!
I love first haircut pictures! The concern, the furrowed brow. She made it through without a breakdown, I'd call it a victory!
Yeah...baby books are so 5 years ago. LOL.
She's a cutie.
So cute! Glad she didn't totally freak out on you like my kid did the first time he got a haircut. (And the second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth times he had a haircut. He's cool now, though. Finally realized the salon gives kids who don't scream bloody murder more candy at the end.)
AWWWWWWW!
Adorable. What a beautiful haircut.
Awwww! Look at that cutie! And I'm so jealous -- she's got that gorgeous, sleek, straight hair with bangs. My daughter has some sort of wild sproingy frizzy thing going on. I finally broke down and gave P3 a minor trim (first one ever, at 40 months old -- Daddy's sort of a Nazi about her hair) last week (just the very ends; they were all snarly and impossible). I'm hoping we can make the leap to the real salon soon -- I can't wait for mother/daughter "spa days"!
ohh she is so sweet catherine.LAVANDULA
She looks fabulous! I haven't had it in me to cut Alliclaus' hair yet, at home or in a salon, but I think it's getting to be about time. Perhaps this will be the motivation I need. Although, let's be honest. My laziness knows no bounds, so it's entirely possible I'll just sit aroung thinking about it for another year.
She looks a little apprehensive in the first few photos, like 'what is going on here?' but looks very proud of herself in the last picture. What a sweet little face!
OMG!! She is so adorable!! Awesome hair cut!
I had to get Nathaniel's hair cut when he was less than a year old because it was in his eyes. He's had a head full of hair since he was born. His twin brother, Sebastian, hasn't had his first hair cut yet though. I'm going to get it cut soon though. It's finally getting long enough to start getting in his eyes so we're going for that little adventure maybe next week. Wish us luck!!
Wonderbaby is so cute though. I just love that blonde hair!!
such a big girl now!
I don't know that she was terrified, but she was very, very apprehensive.
The promise of ice cream afterward made it go down more easily.
What I want to know is how you managed to narrow it down to one of the reportedly 26 hair cutting salon in town?!
The cuteness...oh, the cuteness.
Cute!!
She definitely looks apprehensive in that second photos! But such a cutie!
(Pumpkin, who will be 4 at the end of August, is yet to have a haircut. I suppose we should someday...)
I wondered if the last picture would feature a smile; she didn't look too happy in a few of them!
She's adorable. I LOVE her eyes.
she looks so much like you it frightens me a little. in a good way. oh you know what i mean, dammit.
How cute she is with her new haircut. She seems to be pretty happy about it!
I love your daughter's eyes. She has the bluest blue eyes I have ever seen!
Ice cream makes everything better! She looks cute as a button and holy is she getting big.
Your daughter has the most adorable smile! And those big blue eyes. She's gonna be a heartbreaker for sure.
Look at that gorgeous beaming smile!! Much better without mullet.
Cute, love the new 'do!
Oh Boy, is she ever YOUR daughter!
