Dads Can Be Lactivists, Too!
Overheard at the Bunch Family Salon, as WonderBaby raced in circles with a giant bottle purloined from the Lorraine Kimsa Theatre Props Corner:
Dad #1: Do you suppose that's formula or expressed breastmilk in that bottle?
Dad #2: If that's breastmilk, I'd sure like to meet the mother.Ba-dum-DUM.

That's pretty funny but I'm not surprised at how quickly the men got to their conclusion! ;)
Look at Wonder Baby! Her hair is coming in so nicely and such a pretty blonde!
Oh, those menfolk...gotta love 'em!
see? even those guys that pose as enlightened artistic save the world types are capable of being peurile.
Then send those guys over my way, because I am very proud that in my peak breastfeeding condition, I could express 8 ounces in 5 minutes!
(No. DO NOT send them my way. Don't you even think about it, HBM.)
What did you think of the event? Did you find WB appreciated it? I'm not sure if Cakes is ready for that yet...I can't wait for her to be.
Pervy alternadads
heh heh heh
LOL
I wouldn't want to change the diapers on a baby big enough for the bottle!
Well that figures. At least the idea of expressed breastmilk occurred to them...
On a more serious lactivist note, I've got a post up now about a breastfeeding mother who was discriminated against by her daughter's daycare center - to the tune of $50 a week!
If you're interested in supporting breastfeeding please come read it.

Funny! and great photo :)
Hahahahahah! love it!
Another mega-lactater here. Sadly, my mighty womanly fonts have dried up, but back in my day, I could have mightily attempted to fill that bottle.
There were days when I nursed Julia when I'd wake up with a giant football on my chest (Julia was a single-side nurser; I was so lopsided, all the time) and express about fifteen ounces in 8 minutes. I'd get pumping and then stop and watch as my boob just took over.
How was the Bunch event? Did WB like it?
The Bunch event was good. We definitely enjoyed ourselves, although a big part of that was due to the fact that we went with Sunshine and Little Shot - and I'd say that both WonderBaby and Little Shot would vote for riding in the elevator and pushing buttons as their favourite part of the event. Which is to say, there's more value for the price of admission to the Salon the older your kids are... there was stuff for under-two's to do, but nothing that they'd appreciate any more than riding up and down an elevator. (Well, excepting the giant bottle. That was bonus.)
Still, we all had fun, and I'm glad that we went.
nice.
Heh, I'm glad I'm *not* that mother!
I kinda think it's cool that dads were there at all. I know many dads that wouldn't be caught dead at that kind of event. Me, I live for them. I actually think they're fun! (I know, I'm a geek.)
i don't think you'd get close enough to the mother to ask her how she managed it!
thanks for the recap on the event. we'll definitely head to the next dance party.
and seriously? i laughed way more than i should have at that joke.
Kgirl - The dance parties are a better all-ages event than the salon - WonderBaby lurves the dance party.
Bossy thinks that bottled milk looks a wee curdled. They don't make sinks big enough to dump that nasty out.
That's an incredibly cool story!
Yay for the giant bottle. And the elevator. And Wonderbaby's blinding cuteness!!!
i'm sitting here pumping, and that post just totally helped with the letdown. thanks!
The milk in that bottle is looking a little scary....Dad 2 might want to reconsider his wish. :-)
